Who is eligible?
- Building owners.
- Property owners in the Downtown Port Perry Heritage Conservation District.
- Owners of contributing buildings.
- Owners of non-contributing buildings.

- Materials, equipment, and contracted labour for eligible improvements.
- Professional, legal, and architectural or design fees, up to $1,000.

Selection criteria
- Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- The proposed work must preserve, restore, repair, or replicate a significant heritage feature of the building.
- The proposed work must be visible from the public realm.
- Preference will be given to applications proposing work on contributing buildings.
- The application must be complete, the scope of the proposed work must be clear, and there must be at least two competitive quotes from qualified contractors.
How to apply
- Fill out the Heritage Grant Application form and prepare a draft application with as much information as possible to describe the proposed project.
- Email grants@scugog.ca to submit the draft proposal for consultation.
- After the pre-consultation, submit a completed application with all required materials before the 2nd deadline date, including 2 estimates from contractors and professional drawings of the work to be undertaken.
- Submit your finalized application to Township Staff.
Processing and Agreement
- The Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee will review all grant applications for its consideration and recommendation.
- The Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee may recommend one or more applications to Council for approval.
- All grants will require approval by Council.
- Applicants who secure grant approval will be required to enter into a Grant Agreement/ Letter of Understanding with the Township.
- Designated Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee member(s) will be responsible for the inspection of all grant-assisted properties to ensure that works have been completed in accordance with the terms of the application as reviewed by the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee and approved by Council.
