Science Horizons FAQ and program page updated
The Science Horizons FAQ was revised to make employer and participant eligibility more explicit, including added guidance on stacking rules, contractor status, new-employee requirements, and student or permit restrictions. Application instructions were also expanded with more detail on the eligibility questionnaire flow, supporting documents, and report or payment submission steps. - Priority is being given to Bioscience employers.
- Healthcare organizations that overlap with the bio-economy may be considered for funding.
How to apply
- Step 1: Choose a delivery organization
- Select one of the six delivery organizations (BioTalent Canada, Clean Foundation, Colleges and Institutes Canada, ECO Canada, Electricity Human Resources Canada, UNA-Canada).
- Step 2: Apply through the delivery organization
- Submit your application to the chosen delivery organization to confirm eligibility and request funding.
Processing and Agreement
- Once you have signed your agreement, your application will move into the Active Internship stage and your midterm report documents will become available in the portal.
- You will be notified by email 10 days prior to your midterm to remind you to log in and complete these documents.
- To process your midterm subsidy claim, you must send a request for the intern midterm report, complete the employer midterm report, and upload all corresponding paystubs and training receipts, if applicable.
- If you do not have official paystubs, you must also include proof of payment with copies of e-transfer or direct deposit confirmations.
- The Career Launcher team will process subsidy payments within 15 business days of receiving all required documents at the midterm point and end of the internship.

- Employer matching services are not provided; youth interested in participating must find a placement before the application process starts.
- Back-to-back placements can be funded.
