Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian post-secondary institutions
  • Students from ASEAN Member States
  • Students from Pacific Island Countries
  • Students from Mongolia

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals with Canadian citizenship or a pending citizenship or permanent residency application
  • Students already in another Government of Canada scholarship program
  • Students already enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Applicants who previously received a SEED scholarship under Phase 1

  • Airfare by the most direct and economical route
  • Health insurance and living expenses
  • Ground transportation and required books or supplies

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the application
    • Assign a program coordinator.
    • Gather the required supporting documents.
  • Step 2: Access My EduCanada
    • Sign in or create a Global Affairs Canada Single Sign-On account.
    • Register the institution and select the institution account type.
  • Step 3: Complete the online application
    • Select SEED-2 and click Apply.
    • Enter the required information and save progress as you go.
    • Upload the supporting documents.
  • Step 4: Submit and confirm
    • Review the application for accuracy and completeness.
    • Accept the declaration and permission statement.
    • Submit the application and keep the confirmation reference number.
  • Step 5: Send the ranking
    • Email the ranking of applications based on institutional priorities.
    • Include each candidate’s MyEduCanada application number.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission by Canadian institutions on behalf of candidates.
  • Successful results are communicated in the spring.
  • No feedback is provided for unsuccessful applications.
  • Canadian institutions notify students of the outcome.
  • Selected candidates must arrive in Canada within the allowed arrival window.

  • Scholarships are not renewable and cannot be deferred.
