Who is eligible?
- Income-qualified residents over 18
- Residential electricity customers with BC Hydro, FortisBC, New Westminster, Grand Forks, Summerland, Penticton or Nelson Hydro
Who is not eligible
- Applicants without a functioning AC unit are not excluded for the AC offer; only homes with a functioning AC unit are not eligible
Eligible expenses
- Instant discounts on energy-saving products, including LED light bulbs, low-flow showerheads, and draft-proofing materials
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Central, ducted air conditioning units
- Common areas in multi-tenanted buildings for AC unit installation
Eligible geographic areas
- Service areas of BC Hydro, FortisBC, New Westminster, Grand Forks, Summerland, Penticton and Nelson Hydro
Selection criteria
- AC units are available on a first-come, first-served basis among qualified applicants.
- Availability is subject to funding limitations.
How to apply
- Gather your electricity account number, the number of people in your household, and your total income for all household members over 18.
- FortisBC electricity or Grand Forks, Summerland, Penticton or Nelson Hydro customers: complete and submit the online application to your electricity provider.
- BC Hydro or New Westminster electricity customers: complete and submit the online application to your electricity provider.

Processing and Agreement
- FortisBC is not responsible for lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged, illegible or incomplete applications.
- FortisBC reserves the right to refuse applications which it determines, in its sole discretion, are incomplete, inaccurate or otherwise do not meet Program requirements.
- Please allow three to six weeks for application processing and delivery of your kit.
