Who is eligible?

Who is not eligible
- Applicants already attending college
- Applicants who are at least 30 years old as of March 1, 2026
- Employees, officers or directors of the Green Family Foundation or Firstrust Bank, its subsidiaries, affiliates, donors, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies, their family members or household members, and anyone who may become an employee after submitting an application

How to apply
- Apply online before March 1, 2026; only one application may be submitted
- Submit an essay of 300 words or fewer explaining how you will use your college education to make a substantial impact in your community
- If selected as a semi-finalist, submit a letter of reference and a copy of your high school transcript by April 10, 2026
Processing and Agreement
- Up to 100 applicants will be selected as semi-finalists
- Semi-finalists must provide a letter of reference attesting to demonstrated leadership and a copy of their high school transcript
- 2026 Samuel A. Green Scholars will be notified on May 5, 2026
- The 2026 Samuel A. Green Scholarship Awards Ceremony is on May 27, 2026

- Applicants may submit only one application.
- Scholarships are intended for the student only.
- Scholarship funds are paid directly to the accredited college or university.
- Receiving the scholarship may reduce other financial aid.
