This funding supports HIROC Subscribers’ innovative safety solutions with up to $0. It helps implement projects that improve quality and safety of care in healthcare facilities across the program’s priority themes.
Activities funded
- Safety initiatives addressing intrapartum care risks (e.g., IV/oxytocin management or fetal health surveillance)
- Safety initiatives addressing postpartum risks (e.g., hemorrhage or sepsis)
- Initiatives to reduce misdiagnoses and improve recognition of patient deterioration
- Integration of early warning scores to support human decision-making
- Innovations to reduce incidents and harm related to suicide under care, healthcare human resources, or emergency resilience

- The application must include organizational support for the initiative

How to apply
Step 1: Confirm eligibility
- Review the eligibility criteria
- Obtain a Letter of Support from a Senior Leader or Executive confirming organizational support for the initiative
- Complete the ARECCI Ethics Screening Tool
- Complete the online application form
- Upload the Letter of Support
- Confirm completion of the ARECCI tool
- If selected as a finalist based on scoring criteria, attend an interview when invited
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are assessed and finalists are selected using scoring criteria
- Finalists are invited to an interview
- Applicants are notified of results by email (no later than November 2022, per the provided cycle)
- Successful applicants must sign the Safety Grants Agreement before a specified deadline (before November 30, 2022, per the provided cycle)
