Who is eligible?
- Undergraduate students at Canadian universities
- Students in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, earth science, or physics
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students
Who is not eligible
- Students who are not enrolled full-time at a Canadian university
- Students who do not meet the field of study requirements
- Students who do not meet the age or language requirements
- Students who already hold another Mitacs award at the same time

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by an interdisciplinary team
- Successful candidates are selected by DAAD
- Mitacs issues an Outcome Letter and then a final Award Letter
- Funding is released only after required forms are received
- Selected students complete the internship in Germany and submit an exit survey

- Results are announced in Spring 2026.
