Eligible expenses

• Creating and maintaining new social safeguards, including training, hiring staff, and setting up complaint-handling systems such as Grievance Redress Mechanisms.
• Data and evaluation costs.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Physical resettlement of people, whether voluntary or involuntary.
• Purchase of firearms or ammunition.
• Gathering information by persons who conceal their true identity, or buying intelligence, evidence, or informant services.
• Law enforcement operations that prompt suspects to carry out illegal activities.
• Any activity that would circumvent sanctions, laws, or regulations of the U.S. or the country where the activity takes place.

• Likelihood of conservation impact in support of RTCF goals and objectives.
• Technical, logistical, and institutional capacity of the organization and staff.
• Collaboration with or inclusion of key stakeholders.
• Applications are scored from 1 to 3, then ranked by consensus score; geographic and project diversity may be used to break ties.

• Carefully read the Notice of Funding Opportunity to determine eligibility.
• Maintain an active SAM.gov registration before applying; all applicants except individuals applying as a natural person must be registered in SAM.gov.
