Retrofits and custom project criteria updated
The custom retrofit content now shows revised target groups and project types, including a broader shift in scope across commercial, multi-residential, affordable multi-family housing, and industrial offerings. It also adds new ineligible items and application instructions, including submission through Benevity, EFT setup before applying, and pre-approval terms with HST excluded from incentive payments. The Commercial Custom Retrofit Program content also changed materially: the commercial/institutional incentive table and its purchase-order deadline of June 30, 2026 were removed, while the year-round incentive of up to $0.40/m3 saved and up to 75% of upgrade costs remains visible. The supporting brochure also shows extensive eligibility and incentive updates, including a new custom project focus, measure-specific incentives, and partner/distributor incentives.

Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- HVAC contractors, engineers, consultants, manufacturers and distributors.
- Enbridge Gas customers in Ontario.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Heated air curtains.
- Replacement of existing air curtains.
- New construction pedestrian doors using air curtains in place of vestibules.
- New construction projects for dock door seals.
- Spaces with energy or heat recovery ventilators, setback schedules, contaminants or gases, or spaces requiring 100% fresh air for ERV and HRV offers.
How to apply
- Prequalify your project and process the incentive by providing the requested documents.
- Submit one: a cut sheet or a completed Enbridge Gas Technical Input Sheet (TIS).
- Submit both: a customer quote that includes the Enbridge Gas incentive and a project invoice that includes the installation address.
Processing and Agreement
- Enbridge Gas reserves the right to independently verify application information and confirm installation.
Additional information
- The program is evaluated based on annual natural gas savings achieved by participating customers.
