Overview

Restart Your Career is a free, 24-week EmployAbilities program for eligible adults in Edmonton with disabilities, mental health barriers, or medical conditions, offering 230 hours of computer instruction, 230 hours of job-skills training, a 140-hour practicum, and certifications (First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, customer service) to support employment placement. The maximum funding amount is not specified; successful applicants may be eligible for a living allowance.

Activities funded

  • Deliver a 24-week workforce-restart training and employment placement program for adults with disabilities, mental health barriers, or medical conditions.
  • Provide computer skills training (230 hours) to build in-demand technology skills for remote or on-site work.
  • Provide practical work-based learning through a practicum placement (140 hours).
  • Deliver job-readiness and career development skills training (230 hours) to help participants identify goals and secure employment.
  • Offer job-related certifications training (First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, customer service) as part of the program.
