Funding supports small projects in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve Region up to a maximum of $6,000. It focuses on research and conservation activities such as addressing threats to key species and ecosystems, advancing habitat conservation, and supporting conservation actions and partnerships aligned with First Nations priorities.
Activities funded
- Projects addressing threats to key species and ecosystems
- Projects addressing threats to Indigenous ways of knowing about sacred places and important knowledge
- Habitat conservation, restoration, and/or protection initiatives for ecologically or culturally important species and ecosystems
- Research activities supported by the First Nation in whose territory the work will be conducted
- Conservation actions such as protection activities, education initiatives, policy change work, or new conservation partnerships

Eligibility
- The applicant must be an organization operating in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve Region.
- The project must be conducted in a First Nation’s territory with support from that First Nation.
- The proposed initiative must align with research and environment priorities in the region.

- Addresses threats to key species and ecosystems

- Advances First Nations priorities and follows protocols (including support from the First Nation in whose territory research occurs)
- Contributes to specific conservation actions (e.g., protection, education, policy change) or new conservation partnerships
