How to apply

  • Step 1: Review program requirements
    • Confirm the project fits the eligible areas and project types.
    • Prepare any required supporting information, including a Business Plan if requested.
  • Step 2: Contact Economic Development
    • Reach out to the Township’s Economic Development Department for application guidance.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Apply through the Township’s Economic Development contact process.
  • Step 4: Sign the agreement if approved
    • Complete the Financial Assistance Agreement and registration on title.

Processing and Agreement

  • All successful applications for this stream of the Community Improvement Plan will require a Financial Assistance Agreement between the applicant and the Township.
  • The agreement will be registered on title.
  • The agreement will contain a clause that ensures the eligible rental housing units remain as rental housing units for a period of not less than 20 years.
  • If units are no longer rental housing within the 20 year period, the grant, including interest, will be immediately due and payable.

  • Successful applicants must sign a Financial Assistance Agreement.
  • The agreement is registered on title.
