Who is eligible?
- Nursing students and nurses, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Registered Nurses (RN), and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN).
Who is not eligible
- Applicants at the diploma and undergraduate level are not eligible for a bursary if studying outside BC, except distance learning via Athabasca.

- Education costs covered by bursary funding for eligible nursing studies.
- Certificate program costs, based on the program’s cost tiers.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Bridging programs to gain access to a diploma or degree program.
- Exam preparation courses.
- Micro-credential courses.
- Pre-requisite, preparatory studies (e.g., upgrade/ re-entry to practice courses/ IEN).
- Certification exam fees, employer-funded programs, and certification programs for roles outside of nursing (e.g., doula, naturopath).

- Eligible applicants are drawn at random, and each has an equal chance of receiving an award.
How to apply
- Register for a user account.
- Activate the account through the email link sent by RNFBC.
- Log in to the applicant dashboard.
- Gather these documents before you begin the application: Proof of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, Proof of BC Residency, Course Schedule / proof of enrolment, Registration if a member of BCCNM, For certificates, proof of payment, and if your documents are in a different name, proof of name change.
- Completed applications must be received BEFORE midnight, Monday, September 14, 2026.
- After you SUBMIT your application, it will no longer be available for edits.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are drawn at random from eligible applicants.
- Recipients are notified by email.
- Selected applicants must sign an agreement before funding is issued.
- Selected applicants must provide proof of current enrollment or graduation and other requested information.

- Applicants may re-apply each year they are enrolled in nursing studies, even if they have applied or been a recipient in previous years.
