Eligible expenses

  • Hub operations, including personnel, consultants, travel, communications, knowledge translation, technical support, situational analyses, and case studies.
  • Sub-grants to research teams selected through competitive calls.
  • Indirect costs, up to the allowed share in the funding structure.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Costs for preparing the expression of interest or full proposal.
  • Research project implementation by the host organization using this grant.
  • Sub-granting internationally to overseas suppliers.

Processing and Agreement

  • Expressions of interest are reviewed first by IDRC internal staff.
  • Only successful applicants are invited to submit full technical proposals.
  • Full proposals are reviewed by an external scientific committee.
  • Selected applicants must sign IDRC’s standard Grant Agreement before funds are released.
  • Payments follow a milestone schedule and interim payments depend on approved deliverables.
