Who is eligible?

  • Families living in Peel with children 12 years or younger.

  • People who do not live in Peel.
  • People who are currently looking for work, unless they are also in school or have a social, medical, or extra support need.

How to apply

  • If you have received or applied for subsidy in the past, sign in to your Children’s Services account and send a message, including the name of the child care location you would like to attend.
  • If you do not have an account, create a Children’s Services account or call 905-791-1585.
  • If you have never applied for or received a subsidy in Peel Region, create a Children’s Services account to access the online application and use your first and last name and date of birth when creating the account.
  • If you are receiving Ontario Works, contact your Ontario Works Caseworker.
  • If you are staying in an emergency shelter or transitional housing, speak with someone where you are staying to complete and submit a shelter referral.
  • If you are not able to apply online or arrived in Canada this year and do not have a Notice of Assessment, apply by phone at 905-793-9200, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • A Children’s Services Worker will contact the applicant within 2 business days to review required documents and complete an appointment.
  • Uploaded documents may show as Pending, Accepted, or Declined.
  • If a document is Pending, it has not yet been processed.
  • If a document is Accepted, it was added to the file.
  • If a document is Declined, it was not added to the file.
