Who is eligible?
- A charity registered under the Income Tax Act (Canada) that provides assistance to low income persons
- A housing provider that is a local government, a society registered under the Societies Act (other than a member funded society), an association registered under the Cooperative Association Act, or a governing body of an Indigenous community, provided the housing is primarily for low-income households
- Builder/Developer for new construction projects
- Owner, Charitable Donor or Lessee for retrofit projects
- Property Manager applying on behalf of a Participant with legal authority and permission to bind the Participant to these terms and conditions
Eligible expenses
- Display cases, including anti-sweat heater humidistat controls, refrigerated display case with doors, night covers and occupancy sensors
- Electronically commutated motor systems
- Floating head pressure controls, including low temperature and medium temperature condensing units and remote condensing units
- Refrigeration controls, including auto-closers for cooler and freezer doors and evaporator fan controllers for walk-in coolers and freezers
- Vending machine controllers

- Municipal electricity customers of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro

- Purchase and install qualifying equipment.
- Apply online for your refrigeration equipment rebate.
- Provide your FortisBC electricity account number or municipal account number from Penticton, Summerland, Grand Forks or Nelson Hydro, your email, and scanned or PDF copies of all paid receipts for the purchase and installation of products relevant to the rebate you are applying for.
- Ensure all receipts are marked paid, clear, legible, itemized and indicate relevant information such as brand, model number and any other required information in your application.

- Applications are reviewed after submission with supporting documents.
- Applicants must meet the program terms and conditions.
- Approved rebates are issued based on eligible equipment and receipts.
