Who is eligible?
- Current kinship and foster caregivers.
- Supports for Permanency recipients.
- Past foster caregivers in good standing.
- Select non-profit organizations such as faith-based groups, cultural associations or other community groups.
Who is not eligible
- Non-profit organizations that currently receive funding through the Ministry of Children and Family Services to deliver foster care services or foster care recruitment activities.
How to apply
- Review the eligibility criteria.
- Fill out the application form to confirm eligibility for the Refer-a-Foster Caregiver Program.
- Select yes on the pre-approval question if you want to apply to be an approved referral partner without a referral ready.
- Submit an additional form for each caregiver referral, including the caregiver’s name.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications and supporting documents are reviewed to confirm eligibility.
- Organizations are contacted within 10 business days of submitting their application to clarify eligibility.
- Incentives are paid after the referred prospective caregiver becomes fully licensed.
