Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Low-income families and individuals in Barrie
  • Permanent full-time residents of Barrie
  • Family applications for households of 2 persons or more when the primary applicant is married or in a common-law relationship, or when benefits are for immediate family members or other dependents living in the same household for which the applicant is the primary caregiver

Who is not eligible

  • Individual applicants under 18
  • Individual applicants aged 18 to 24 who are enrolled in a full-time post-secondary education program
  • Individual applicants who are married or living in a legally recognized common-law relationship
  • Individual applicants with dependants

Eligible expenses

  • Registration fee for qualifying programs and activities

  • Additional program equipment charges, including uniform and art supplies
  • Private or semi-private swimming and skating lessons
  • Personal fitness training
  • 1:1 Inclusion Support Services
  • Room and/or facility rentals
