Rock My Business: A three-part workshop series

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 39.
  • Black entrepreneurs aged 18 to 39.
  • Indigenous entrepreneurs aged 18 to 39.
  • Pre-launch or part-time businesses.
  • Co-operatives and non-profit organizations with a revenue-generating model.

Who is not eligible

  • Businesses in alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, gambling, gaming, or firearms.
  • Full-time businesses operating before July 1, 2025.
  • Applicants who do not meet the age requirement of 18 to 39.

Eligible expenses

  • Startup costs, such as website development, supplies, marketing, and inventory.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Repayment of existing debt.
  • Businesses operating in alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, gambling, gaming, or firearms sectors.
  • Full-time businesses operating before July 1, 2025.

  • Potential for sustainable revenues.
  • Use of the award to launch the business.
  • Applicant knowledge of the market and sales plan.
  • Realistic cash flow projection.
  • Clarity and strength of the business plan.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Attend the required workshops
    • Register for and complete both Rock My Business Plan and Rock My Cash Flow workshops.
    • Attend the online sessions or one of the in-person workshops in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, or Montreal.
  • Step 2: Prepare the application package
    • Complete the required RBC business plan and cash flow templates.
    • Prepare the application form once it is shared with eligible participants.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Send the completed business plan, cash flow forecast, and application form to Futurpreneur.
    • Submit by the stated deadline.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed and scored by a diverse panel of RBC business experts.
  • Selection is based on the merit and strength of the business plan and cash flow.
  • The best business plans are selected for the awards.
  • Applications submitted in the wrong template are not reviewed.

Additional information

  • Applications are treated as confidential.
  • The application form is shared only with eligible participants.
  • Only one shareholder or business partner per business may apply.
  • Business plans and cash flow forecasts are not reviewed in advance by Futurpreneur.
