How to apply

  • Step 1: Determine Eligibility
    • Check if your property is located within one of Ottawa’s stormwater retrofit areas (Priority, Secondary, or Outside) using the address lookup tool on the program’s website.
  • Step 2: Choose Project Pathway
    • Decide whether to complete the Rain Ready Ottawa Home Assessment, work with a certified Fusion Landscape Professional (FLP), or complete the relevant Rain Ready Ottawa eLearning courses (for certain project types).
  • Step 3: Complete Required Actions for Eligibility
    • If opting for a Home Assessment, arrange for the assessment with an FLP certified assessor.
    • If opting for the eLearning courses, enroll and complete the required courses. Save your completion certificates as proof of eligibility.
    • If working with a FLP, coordinate your project through them to meet eligibility requirements.
  • Step 4: Prepare Your Application
    • Gather required documentation, such as proof of home assessment or eLearning course completion, certified landscape designs (if applicable), and details about your proposed project (downspout redirection, rain garden installation, soakaway pit installation, permeable pavement, or landscape design).
  • Step 5: Submit Application
    • Complete the application form as specified in the Rain Ready Ottawa program guidelines.
