Overview

This program provides up to $2,000 to support animal welfare lectures at Canadian universities. Funding helps cover guest speaker travel or honorariums and some promotion costs for public-facing events.

Activities funded

  • Hosting a university lecture on animal welfare promoted to the general public and students
Examples of admissible projects:

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a Canadian university and host faculty member(s).
  • The proposed lecture must relate to animal welfare.
  • The lecture must be promoted to the general public and to students.
  • The proposal must outline the lecture topic, speakers, timing, promotion approach, venue, and expected attendance.

How to apply

Step 1: Prepare lecture proposal
  • Draft a detailed email or 1–2 page plan for the lecture.
  • Include the lecture topic.
  • Identify possible guest speakers.
  • Specify timing and proposed date/period.
  • Provide a promotion and marketing plan (including promotion to the general public and students).
  • Identify the venue.
  • Estimate expected attendance.
Step 2: Submit proposal by email
  • Send the proposal by email to the program administrator.
  • Submit by March 1.
Step 3: Wait for decision
  • Expect a funding decision announcement by the end of April.

  • Funding decisions are announced by the end of April.
