Selection criteria
- Operational proposals are scored on the value of the project’s objectives, current level of impact/risks and immediate need for action, including human safety, environmental impacts and domestic animal conflict (20 points).
- Operational proposals are also scored on expected impact and cost-effectiveness (20 points).
- Research proposals are scored on scientific value and their potential to innovate practices in B.C. (20 points).
- Research proposals are also scored on associated objectives, including impact and cost-effectiveness, plus contributions from funding partners (20 points and 5 points).

Processing and Agreement
- The Province receives all project proposals and makes the final funding prioritizations and allocations after PUDAC review.
- Funding allotments, general conditions and timelines are communicated through agreements in principle by e-mail.
- The BC Conservation Foundation works with the local government or First Nation to develop and enter into a shared cost agreement.
- Once Schedule A works are completed and the project completion report is finalized, the local government submits the report to PUDAC for approval and invoices the BC Conservation Foundation for payment; the Chief Financial Officer’s statement must be attached, and any changes require written approval.
