  • Travel, accommodation, meals, and incidental allowances
  • Professional fees, including legal fees
  • Salaries and wages for IMARs-related work
  • Office and meeting space rental, communication costs, and materials
  • Equipment, software, GST/PST/HST, and eligible overhead costs

  • Costs incurred before April 1, 2025
  • Costs related to ongoing business
  • Lobbying costs

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by NRCan after submission.
  • NRCan may contact applicants for additional information.
  • Applications are assessed against eligibility and merit criteria.
  • Approved applicants are notified by email and must finalize a Contribution Agreement.
  • Payments follow the terms set out in the Contribution Agreement.

Additional information

  • The 2025-26 application period closed on September 26, 2025.
  • Approved projects are published on Canada.ca through proactive disclosure.
  • Recipients must keep claim forms and reports for three years.
  • Applicants with an active 2024-25 IMARs Contribution Agreement must complete final reporting to be eligible for a new agreement.
