Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Private forest owners who hold a recognized forest producer certificate.
Who is not eligible
- Forest property owners who were not recognized forest producers for at least one day during the fiscal year in question.
Eligible expenses
- Municipal and school property taxes on private forest property
- Planning, follow-up and operational supervision costs
- Costs of carrying out eligible silvicultural work and other activities listed in Annex 1
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Work that already received assistance from the Programme d’aide à la mise en valeur des forêts privées (PAMVFP)
- Areas that already received another property tax refund
- Assessment units that benefited from the Programme de crédit de taxes foncières agricoles of MAPAQ

- All administrative regions of Quebec
How to apply
- Contact a forest engineer before the work is carried out.
- Obtain the forest engineer’s report confirming the admissibility of the work.
- File the refund request according to the tax return type: individuals complete Schedule E, Part C; incorporated forest producers complete the Revenu Québec form Demande de remboursement de taxes foncières pour les producteurs forestiers.
