Overview of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund — Programming: Presenter Support Organizations program
The Canada Arts Presentation Fund – Presenter Support Organizations sub-component provides up to $100,000 (grants) or $200,000 (contributions) annually to support organizations that strengthen the arts presentation sector through activities such as conferences, workshops, marketing initiatives, and tool development. The program aims to enhance professional development and reinforce Canada’s arts presenting infrastructure by supporting projects that connect and build capacity among arts presenters.
Financing terms and conditions
- The total government assistance (federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal) cannot exceed 90% of total project-related costs.
- Funding covers up to 25% of eligible expenses per year, up to $100,000 for grants or $200,000 for contributions.
- On rare occasions, support may reach up to 50% of eligible expenses for projects in communities with significant barriers, subject to program validation.
- The average support generally ranges from 7% to 17% of eligible expenses, depending on the region.

Eligibility criteria of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund — Programming: Presenter Support Organizations program
- The applicant must be a not-for-profit organization incorporated under federal, provincial, or territorial legislation, or a provincial, territorial, or municipal institution (including agencies and public educational institutions that organize presentation activities for the public), or an Indigenous institution or organization (Inuit, Métis, First Nations).
- The organization must have existed for at least one year.
- The applicant's core focus must be the strengthening of arts presentation in Canada.
- The organization must offer activities and services that provide arts presenters with access to a variety of artistic choices, provide artists with access to arts presenters (specialized and multidisciplinary), reinforce Canadian arts presentation circuits, and further practical arts presentation knowledge.

- Not-for-profit organizations incorporated under Canadian federal, provincial, or territorial not-for-profit legislation
- Provincial, territorial, or municipal institutions, including agencies and public educational institutions that organize presentation activities for the public
- Indigenous institutions or organizations (Inuit, Métis, First Nations)
Who is not eligible
- For-profit companies (only not-for-profit organizations, certain public institutions, and Indigenous organizations are eligible).
- Organizations whose primary activities are not focused on strengthening arts presentation in Canada.
Eligible expenses
- Coordination costs for contact events, showcases, and presenter conferences (including hall and venue rentals, registration and materials, artists’ fees, per diems, accommodation, and travel for artists).
- Promotion and marketing expenses, including costs for social media activities.
- Training and professional development (such as fees for workshop facilitation, mentorship, consultants, research, plus travel, accommodation, and per diems for related business activities).
- Administration costs directly related to the project.

Eligibility criteria of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund — Programming: Presenter Support Organizations program
- Relevance of programming (30%): Clear alignment between the organization’s mandate, proposed activities and services, and the objectives of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF); relevance of activities and services to improving access for arts presenters and artists, reinforcing Canadian presenting circuits, and enhancing practical knowledge.
- Impact on activities and services on presenters (40%): Ability to effectively gather knowledge and deliver relevant activities and services based on the needs of arts presenters/stakeholders; positive impact on arts presenters; contribution to the local, regional, and when applicable, national and international support infrastructure for presenter organizations.
- Management and financial health (30%): Demonstrated capacity with appropriate financial and human resources, and expertise (including volunteers, board, and staff) to carry out proposed activities; presence of a realistic, balanced budget with diversified funding sources and a strong record of financial performance.

- Contact the nearest Department of Canadian Heritage office if you are applying for the first time to confirm eligibility

Complete application form
- Complete the General Application Form, ensuring all sections are filled
- Sign and date the form

Prepare supporting documents
- Gather required supporting documents, including budget template, promotional materials, organizational chart, board lists, planning documents, board resolution, CV of executive director, incorporation documents, and recent financial statements
- First-time applicants must provide a one-page organizational history and completed form for past activities and results

Assemble application package
- Attach all required supporting documents to the completed application form
- Ensure the package is complete before proceeding

Submit application package
- Submit your application package by one method only (mail, courier, hand-delivery, or email to your regional office)
- Applications must be postmarked, hand-delivered, or sent by 11:59 p.m. local time on the deadline date

Await application review
- Wait for acknowledgment of receipt within two weeks of submission
- If additional information is requested, provide it within five business days
Additional information
- The Canada Arts Presentation Fund is highly competitive, and submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
- Funding recipients must acknowledge financial support in both English and French in all communications and promotional materials.
- If a previously funded project has an outstanding final report, new applications may be rejected.
- Organizations must retain records and documents related to the project for five years for potential audits or program evaluations.
