Who is eligible?
- Individuals or groups within The Presbyterian Church in Canada
- Congregations and outreach missions of the PCC
- Synods and regions, and in some cases presbyteries with synod permission
- Ministers, diaconal ministers, and lay ministers employed in The Presbyterian Church in Canada
- Christian educators and worship leaders
Who is not eligible
- A ministry that has received a Special Projects Fund grant within the previous three years
Eligible expenses
- Program costs and related expenses for eligible ministry initiatives
- Staffing costs for approved projects
- Housing, stipend, and moving expenses for rural and remote leadership placements
- Project costs supported by the fund’s cost-sharing rules

- Mission trips
- Programs or events that benefit a single congregation or social ministry under Regional Resourcing Grants for equipping and educational programs
- Annual synod meetings

Selection criteria
- Preference will be given to first-time applicants.
- Preference will be given to new initiatives.
- Projects that can be completed within a one-year period are preferred.
- Priority will be given to applications from those in mission fields, multiple-point charges, grant-receiving ministries and to applicants that cannot be fully subsidized by his or her congregation.
- Priority will be given to proposals from Presbyterian ministries in Saskatchewan and then western Canada.
How to apply
- Use the online application form for the relevant fund.
- Some forms begin by collecting your name and email so a link to the main form can be sent by email.
- Some applications require an extract of minutes or endorsement from the ministry’s governing body.
- For the Rural and Remote Ministry Grant student stream, seminary students are encouraged to apply directly by first contacting the approved ministry of interest.
Processing and Agreement
- Some applications are reviewed by the Life and Mission Agency or a grants committee.
- Approved projects may require reports, photographs, or financial summaries after completion.
- Some grants require the applicant to acknowledge funding in program literature.
- Some funds are paid in stages, including a final payment after the report is received.
