How to apply

Report and inspect
- Notify the Town of Oakville Roads & Works Operations Department of any suspected damage or blockage in the storm sewer lateral.
- Undertake an initial inspection to determine the extent and location of the damage or blockage.

Gather required proof
- If the blockage is in the private portion and is caused by roots from a municipal tree, you may be eligible for a one-time grant covering 50 per cent of repair costs up to $2,000.00.
- Prepare a closed circuit television inspection showing visual evidence of the condition of the private portion of the storm sewer lateral.
- Collect the contractor’s original invoice for the repair or maintenance related to this blockage.

Submit the application
- Submit the CCTV inspection and the contractor’s original invoice to the municipality.
- If approved at the sole discretion of the Director of Roads & Works Operations and/or designate, complete and sign the Private Storm Sewer Lateral Grant Program Application & Release Form.
- The town may reimburse eligible expenses up to a maximum of $2,000.00.
Processing and Agreement
- The Town reviews the submitted inspection and invoice.
- The decision is made at the sole discretion of the Director of Roads & Works Operations or designate.
- If approved, the applicant must sign the Application & Release Form before reimbursement.
- The grant does not admit liability by the Town.
