Overview

The Private Sector Support Program for the Deployment of Public Fast Charging Stations provides financial assistance of up to $2.5 million per site (and up to $10 million per project call) to private companies for the purchase and installation of public DC fast charging stations in strategic locations throughout Quebec. Eligible activities include acquiring and installing certified charging stations of at least 100 kW, related infrastructure, and associated professional services.

Financing terms and conditions

  • Financial assistance covers up to 80% of eligible acquisition and installation costs, including applicable fees, before taxes.
  • Maximum subsidy per fast charging station depends on power output: $125,000 (100–149.9 kW), $175,000 (150–199.9 kW), and $225,000 (200 kW and above).
  • Each eligible project may receive a maximum of $2.5 million per site.
  • Total maximum funding per call for projects is $10 million.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a for-profit business registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec.
  • The company must have an establishment located in Quebec.
  • The project must involve the installation of at least two public fast charging (DCFC) stations per site.
  • The charging stations must be strategically located, easily accessible for users, and situated near related services such as restaurants, pharmacies, shopping centres, or food stores.
  • The stations must be certified for use in Canada at the time of application and maintained in service for at least 8 years.

  • For-profit companies registered with the Quebec Business Register and having an establishment in the province.

Eligible expenses

  • Purchase of eligible charging stations and related accessories.
  • Purchase of lighting equipment and weather protection equipment for the charging area.
  • Acquisition of devices or software for energy management of electric vehicle charging.
  • Installation costs for various equipment.
  • Professional service fees and labor required for the project (such as plans, installation, electrical connection, and infrastructure work).
  • Warranty, management/telecommunication, and preventive maintenance fees payable at the time of station purchase.
  • Permit fees for the installation of the charging station.
  • Costs for environmental assessments.
