How to apply
- Step 1: Complete the application
- Fill out the Cemetery Support Application Form.
- Provide all requested information and explain how the funds will be used.
- Step 2: Submit by the deadline
- Send the application to the Clerk on or before February 28 each year.
- Step 3: Submit supporting information
- Include financial records or bank statements showing the cemetery’s financial position.
- Include the BAO licence number and any required by-laws information.
- Step 4: Complete reporting after funding
- Submit the follow-up report by February 28 of the following year.
- Include accomplishments, revenues and expenditures, and receipts showing how funds were used.
Processing and Agreement
- The Municipality may decline or reject any Cemetery Support Application for any reason, including improper use of funds, incomplete or late applications, or applications that contradict the intent of the Private Cemetery Support Framework.
- Approved support is distributed through the annual operating budget.
- Cemetery Support recipients must submit a follow-up report by February 28th of the following year, including accomplishments, revenues and expenditures, and receipts showing how the funds were used.
- Recipients must permit a representative of the Municipality of South Huron to examine records at any time to confirm the support funding has been used as intended and approved.
- Upon approval, the cemetery board must complete a Cemetery Support Reporting Form (Schedule B).
