Who is eligible?

- Studies and plans, including Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Study.

- Works or studies subject to a CIP application that begin before receiving Municipal approval and before execution of any applicable grant or loan agreement(s).

Selection criteria
- Consistency with applicable Town, Provincial and Federal policies, by-laws, provisions, standards and guidelines.
- Consistency with Prescott’s Downtown Design Guidelines, Prescott’s Downtown Sign Guidelines, and Prescott’s Sign By-Law 16-2019.
- Applications are judged on their individual merits as to how the improvements support the vision for the Town of Prescott as articulated in the Official Plan and the Prescott Downtown Design and Sign Guidelines.
How to apply
- Arrange a pre-consultation meeting with the Economic Development Office to discuss and confirm application requirements, program eligibility, proposed scope of work, project timing, and supporting documentation requirements.
- After the consultation, submit a completed application with the required supporting documentation.
- Submit a separate application for each individually addressed property.
- Submit the application to Prescott's Economic Development Department; electronic submissions are preferred, but in-person or mail submissions are also accepted.
Processing and Agreement
- Once all required forms and supporting materials are received, Town Staff will undertake a preliminary screening of the proposal and application.
- Town Staff may perform an initial site visit and inspection of the building or property, as necessary.
- If the application meets the program requirements, it will move to the Planning Advisory Committee for final financial approval.
- The applicant will be notified whether the application was approved or declined within 48 hours of the meeting.
- If approved, the applicant must enter into an agreement to receive the approved funding, and funding is issued upon submission of the required proof of expenses and payment.
