Post Basic Course Bursary

Who is eligible?

• Registered Nurses
• RNs working in any practice setting or employment position
• RNs enrolled in specialty certification programs other than CNA

Who is not eligible

• Applicants seeking CNA specialty certification funding
• Applicants for individual courses toward a BN, MN, or PhD degree
• RNs who received a Trust Conference or Post Basic Specialty Course Bursary within the last 5 years

Eligible expenses

• Registration or tuition fees
• Travel and accommodation costs
• Other self-paid course or exam costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Individual courses completed toward a BN, MN, or PhD degree
• CNA specialty certification applications
• Using the bursary for a different activity if the planned event is not attended

Eligible geographic areas

• Newfoundland and Labrador

• Applications are reviewed after the competition deadline
• Funding decisions are made in mid-late May for spring and mid-late November for fall
• Applicants are notified by email of the decision
• Successful applicants must submit proof before reimbursement is issued

• Applications are accepted twice a year: spring and fall.
• If spring funding decisions are deferred, applicants do not need to resubmit.
• Successful applicants are reimbursed after submitting proof of completion or attendance.
• If other funding covers the full cost, applicants must accept that funding and return Trust funds if already received.
