This funding provides up to $5,000 to support initiatives that enhance a sense of belonging within the local community. Eligible activities include community connectedness planning, facilitation, and community program development (e.g., integrating social connection into community plans or setting up local programs).

Activities funded

  • Creating plans to improve safety in community spaces and access to healthy food
  • Integrating social connection into Official Community Plans or Comprehensive Community Plans
  • Facilitating community discussions and planning for community programs or official plans
  • Coordinating recreation and transportation providers to set up a dementia-friendly community program
  • Developing and delivering a fitness program for Indigenous youth
