Who is eligible?

• Registered paint processors
• Collection sites handling eligible paint materials
• Businesses operating as processors in Western Canada

Who is not eligible

• Unregistered businesses
• Facilities without required compliance or insurance documentation
• Processors using unapproved downstream facilities

Eligible expenses

• Transportation of eligible paint materials from collection sites or generators to the processor facility
• Processing of latex, non-latex, aerosol paint, and eligible containers
• Shipping processed materials to approved downstream processors

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Landfill disposal without prior approval
• Processing or shipping to unapproved downstream processors
• Handling ineligible material such as adhesives, caulking, HHW, tints, and brushes

• Manitoba

• Ability to meet Program requirements
• Compliance with environmental, health, and safety rules
• Proof that materials are handled and processed to a final recycled state
• Use of approved downstream processors and proper reporting

• Step 1: Register with ARMA
  • Create and submit the required online registration application through ARMA Connect.
  • Provide the required business and compliance information.
• Step 2: Set up processor requirements
  • Prepare the required business plan and supporting approvals.
  • Ensure downstream processors are identified and approved.
• Step 3: Submit incentive claims
  • Use ARMA Connect to submit monthly claims and supporting records.
  • Provide backup documents and respond to requests for clarification.

• Applications and claims are reviewed by ARMA after submission.
• Funding is paid only when claims are complete, accurate, and accepted.
• ARMA may withhold, delay, reduce, or revoke payments if requirements are not met.
• Registered processors must keep records and provide requested supporting documents.

• Collection sites should work with their Registered Processors to ensure materials are eligible and properly handled.
• Registered Processors must use the ARMA Connect portal for incentive claims.
• Shipping documents should be checked for accuracy before signing.
• Environmental fees help fund the recycling system for designated paint materials.
