Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Young agricultural entrepreneurs.
  • Applicants starting a new agricultural business.
  • Applicants establishing themselves in an existing agricultural business.
  • Cooperative members with a decision-making role, where applicable.

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants outside the 18 to 39 age range.
  • Applicants who have not completed one of the required training programs.
  • Projects that are not agricultural training, start-up, or establishment projects.
  • Paid internships and regular degree-based training projects.
  • Projects related to prohibited cannabis activities, except industrial hemp.

Eligible expenses

  • Direct project-related expenses.
  • Registration fees for training activities.
  • Travel and accommodation costs within public-sector rates.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Training leading to a diploma.
  • Training not directly related to agricultural practice.
  • Meal expenses.
  • Training material purchases.
  • Administration costs.
  • Paid internships.
  • Regular training programs and degree-based training.
  • Social, union, fundraising, or trade show activities.

Processing and Agreement

  • Complete applications are reviewed for admissibility.
