Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Recognized agricultural successor groups.
Who is not eligible
- Projects involving cannabis products not authorized by Health Canada, except industrial hemp.
- Projects involving additional cannabis products such as food ingredients, processed foods, topicals, concentrates, tinctures, or capsules.
- Projects aimed at promoting a business that sells products or services other than consulting services.
- Public events such as trade shows, fundraising activities, social or union activities, and restricted-audience events.
Eligible expenses
- Collective registration fees.
- Collective travel and accommodation costs.
- Materials needed for biosafety, when required.
- Event promotion costs.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Degree-related training activities.
- Training not directly related to agricultural practice.
- Meal expenses.
- Training materials, promotional items, event equipment, land or building costs.
- Administration costs, debt service, taxes, and costs for non-member participants.

Processing and Agreement
- Complete applications are reviewed by representatives of the Minister.
- Projects are assessed against program objectives and evaluation criteria.
- Funding is subject to budget availability and is not guaranteed.
- If accepted, the applicant may need to coordinate with the Ministry before promotional or public activities.
- Applicants may request a review of a decision within 30 days of notification.
Additional information
- Projects are accepted on a continuous basis until funds are exhausted.
- An automatic acknowledgment is sent after submission of a complete application.
- If approved, promotional materials or public/media activities must be checked with the Ministry first.
- Decisions can be appealed within 30 days of notification using the revision request form.
