Overview
Provides up to $3 million in non-repayable contributions to strengthen the Black entrepreneurship ecosystem in British Columbia. Funding supports Black-led not-for-profit organizations to deliver activities such as incubation/acceleration, networking, matchmaking, and mentorship for Black entrepreneurs and business owners.
Activities funded
- Incubation and acceleration programs.
- Networking, matchmaking and mentorship opportunities.
- Initiatives to support the participation of the Black community in entrepreneurship.
- Other activities that support the objective of the BEP Ecosystem Fund.
Eligibility
- Be an incorporated, Black-led not-for-profit support organization.
- Have at least two-thirds Black representation in leadership positions and governance structure.
- Have a mandate, activities, and outcomes focused on supporting Black communities in British Columbia.
- Be able to deliver business support services and reach the Black community in British Columbia.
Who is eligible?
- Incorporated Black-led not-for-profit support organizations (delivery partners) in British Columbia.
Who is not eligible
- Organizations that are not incorporated.
- Organizations that are not Black-led (less than two-thirds Black leadership and governance).
- Organizations whose mandate is not focused on supporting Black communities in British Columbia.
Eligible geographic areas
- British Columbia.
Selection criteria
- Clear alignment with program objectives.
- Measurable economic outcomes.
- Capacity to serve Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs).
- Strong collaboration plans with other organizations to broaden reach and enhance impact.
- Sound financial performance and management capacity.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are evaluated against BEP program objectives.
- Only the strongest applications meeting program objectives will receive funding.

- Funding is delivered through delivery partners to provide business supports to Black entrepreneurs and business owners.
