The program provides up to $10,000 to support community-based outdoor recreation initiatives in British Columbia. Eligible activities include projects in natural settings such as parks, trails, and natural aquatic areas that enhance outdoor infrastructure, foster stewardship and education, or increase inclusive participation.
Activities funded
- Enhancing and maintaining trails in natural settings.
- Improving signage and outdoor recreation infrastructure in natural settings.
- Education and stewardship initiatives that promote responsible outdoor use.
- Initiatives that minimize environmental, cultural, and safety impacts of outdoor adventuring.
- Projects that encourage inclusive participation in outdoor recreation for under-represented groups.

Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The project must take place in natural settings such as parks, trails, or natural aquatic areas.
- The project must support meaningful outdoor recreation and nature-based experiences for British Columbians.
- The project must align with at least one program priority (outdoor enhancement, stewardship and education, or inclusive participation).

- Community-based volunteer organizations.
- Community groups involved in outdoor recreation enhancement and stewardship.
Who is not eligible
- Applicants proposing activities in highly cultivated recreation areas (e.g., playgrounds, skateparks, sports fields, urban farms).

- Cash contributions toward total project costs.
