Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- District school boards with eligible schools.
- School authorities with eligible schools.
Eligible expenses
- Travel costs from the school to Toronto and back.
- Meals and accommodation for eligible trips.
- Air or rail travel to the nearest commercial centre for schools without road access.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Late applications.
- Costs beyond the approved subsidy amount.
- Travel expenses not related to the approved school trip.
Eligible geographic areas
- Northern Ontario schools located north of the southern boundaries of Muskoka, Haliburton and Renfrew counties, and north of Highway 28 in Hastings County.
Processing and Agreement
- The ministry reviews all applications.
- Boards are notified of their subsidy amount by mid-January.
- A transfer payment agreement must be signed.
- Funds are transferred after the financial report is received.
Additional information
- School boards may submit only one application.
- Only eligible schools with interested participants are included in the board’s request.
- Schools must be listed in order of priority on the application.
- Funding is subject to available ministry funds.
