Who is eligible?
- Ontario residents in financial need.
- People who are 18 years of age or older and have status in Canada.
- People who are 16 or 17 years of age under special circumstances only.
- Temporary caregivers of children under 18 who are not living with their parents.

How to apply
- Apply online or by telephone.
Processing and Agreement
- You can request an internal review within 30 calendar days after receipt of the decision.
- The office will complete the internal review within 10 days of your request and notify you of the result.
- If you disagree with the internal review, you can appeal to the Social Benefits Tribunal within 30 days of the internal review decision.
- You cannot file the appeal unless you have asked for an internal review.
