How to apply
- Step 1: Notify the municipality or ministry within the required time.
- Report the injury, death, or damage.
- Preserve the site and carcass or damaged equipment.
- Step 2: Investigator review and form completion
- The investigator inspects the site and completes the application.
- Provide photos and supporting evidence.
- Step 3: Owner review and signature
- Review the completed form carefully.
- Sign the application and submit any extra evidence within the deadline.
- Step 4: Submission to OMAFRA
- The municipality submits the complete application by email.
- The ministry reviews the file and issues a decision.
Processing and Agreement
- The municipality or investigator reviews the application for completeness.
- OMAFRA assesses eligibility, evidence, reasonable care, and compensation value.
- The owner receives a written decision after assessment.
- Approved claims move to payment through the municipality or ministry.
- Appeals may be requested in writing within 20 business days.
