Overview

Supports community-led youth and family innovation projects up to $250,000. Eligible activities include researching important issues, testing new ideas, scaling proven approaches, and strengthening systems for youth.

Activities funded

  • Create and sustain safe community spaces for youth and families.
  • Research important issues affecting youth or families.
  • Explore approaches and test new ideas through innovation pilots.
  • Scale or expand proven community projects to increase reach or impact.
  • Collaborate to understand and strengthen systems so they work better for youth.

Documents Needed

Eligibility

  • The project must be community-led and create safe spaces, empower youth and families, support career pathways, or address community challenges.
  • The project must fit one of the program’s innovation streams (experimental, scaling, or systems innovation).
  • For systems innovation projects, the project must involve a collaboration focused on understanding and strengthening systems for youth.

  • Community groups leading projects for youth.
  • Youth-led partnerships and youth–adult partnerships.
  • Community groups led by parents, guardians, and people responsible for children/youth.
  • Collaborations applying under the systems innovations stream.

  • For experimental and scaling streams, applicants are typically notified of the application status about six weeks after the submission deadline.

Additional information

  • The fund prioritizes community groups addressing the experiences of Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) and/or Black youth facing systemic barriers.
  • For experimental and scaling streams, the funding decision notification is typically about six weeks after the submission deadline.
  • For the Systems Innovations stream, a mandatory pre-application coaching call participation deadline applies for lead organizations (February 11, 2026).
  • For the Systems Innovations stream, lead organizations must submit “Organization Information” by February 18, 2026.
