ODB program update: eligibility thresholds and formulary reference refresh
The senior Ontario Drug Benefit deductible and prescription co-payment page now shows updated 2026–2027 income eligibility thresholds, separates individual and combined eligibility rules, and adds clarifications for spouse-related situations, including long-term care and community-home cases. It also adds a Previous income thresholds section and updates the page structure around who should apply, what is covered, and how to apply. The Formulary / Comparative Drug Index Edition 43 updates list now includes a new July 2026 summary-of-changes entry, with the XML extract effective date moving from May 29, 2026 to June 30, 2026 and the reference page date refreshed to July 24, 2026.

Who is eligible?
- Seniors aged 65 years or older with an Ontario health card number
- Low-income seniors who qualify under the program’s income eligibility thresholds
Who is not eligible
- A spouse who is under 65 years old does not receive drug benefits as a senior

- Most of the cost of more than 5,900 medications currently available through the Ontario Drug Benefit program
