Eligible expenses

  • Capital expenses for processing equipment, food safety equipment, software systems, and related engineering
  • Non-capital professional fees, training, testing, validation studies, and certification audits
  • Market development costs such as feasibility studies, market readiness assessments, export or marketing plans, and trade show fees
  • Travel expenses that comply with the program travel policy
  • Label, packaging, translation, and product launch materials for eligible new product or market activities

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Purchase or construction of real property or structural works
  • Aquaculture, aquaponics, and seafood processing activities
  • Advertising, sponsorships, and product giveaways
  • Website, e-commerce, and ongoing online marketing costs
  • GST, shipping costs, lease costs, and ongoing overhead expenses

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed and assessed against eligibility and merit criteria
