Eligible expenses

  • Real property and depreciable assets, including pipes, pumps, terminals, leak detection systems, and tankage
  • Land used for the project, subject to fair market value limits
  • Professional services, engineering and design labour, installation and transport costs
  • Project construction, site preparation, utilities, regulatory fees, FEED studies, and capitalized interest
  • Independent third-party audit, engineering, and appraisal fees when required

  • Travel, marketing, and promotional costs
  • Natural gas pipelines, crude-by-rail infrastructure, and emulsion flow lines
  • Routine maintenance, capital turnover, and operating costs

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the Ministry of Energy and Resources against the program requirements.

  • Approved credits are then applied or transferred through IRIS.
