The OAC Multi and Inter-Arts Organizations: Operating grant provides ongoing operational funding to Ontario-based, not-for-profit professional organizations presenting two or more artistic disciplines. The program supports sustained multi- and inter-arts activities, including creation, production, and presentation, but the maximum funding amount is not specified.

Financing terms and conditions

  • Organizations must have at least $75,000 in total revenues for the last fiscal year and in projected revenues for the current and requested years in order to be considered for operating funding.

Eligibility criteria of the OAC — Multi and Inter-Arts Organizations: Operating program

  • The applicant must be an Ontario-based not-for-profit corporation, or a national not-for-profit corporation with its head office in Ontario.
  • The organization must have a mandate and activities that represent two or more artistic forms.
  • The organization must have at least two years of sustained, regular, ongoing programming as of the application date.
  • The organization must demonstrate a range of revenue sources and have an active board of directors or governing body.
  • New applicants must contact the program officer at least one month before the deadline for eligibility approval.

  • Ontario-based not-for-profit professional inter-arts organizations
  • National not-for-profit professional multi- and inter-arts organizations with their head office in Ontario

How to apply to the OAC — Multi and Inter-Arts Organizations: Operating program

  • Step 1: Review Program ResourcesConsult the Guide to OAC Operating Programs and Guide to OAC Assessment.
  • Review other relevant supporting materials provided by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC).
  • Step 2: Contact Program Officer (New Applicants Only)Reach out to the program officer at least one month before the deadline to request approval to apply.
  • Participate in discussions with OAC to determine eligibility, fit, appropriate grant amount, and other application specifics.
  • Step 3: Register and Update ProfilesCreate or update your organization’s profile in Nova, OAC’s online application system.
  • Register for an account with Canadian Arts Data / Données sur les arts au Canada (CADAC) if you are a new applicant.
  • Step 4: Prepare Application MaterialsAnswer all application questions as required in Nova.
  • Submit financial and statistical information through CADAC.
  • Upload financial statements for your organization’s last completed year to CADAC.
  • Prepare and attach additional support documents (such as your website).
  • Step 5: Submit ApplicationComplete and submit your application through Nova when the program opens (applications are made available about two months prior to the deadline).
  • Step 6: Application AssessmentOAC will evaluate applications using their established evaluation rubric for operating programs.
  • Step 7: NotificationAwait grant notification, expected about five months after the application deadline.

  • The program is in year 1 of a three-year cycle for 2025 and is accepting new applicants.
  • Applications become available in the Nova system about two months before the deadline.
  • Grant notifications are issued approximately five months after the deadline.
  • Financial and statistical reports must be submitted through CADAC before the deadline.
