Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Non-profit non-arts organizations based in Ontario.
  • Non-profit arts organizations based in Ontario.
  • Ad hoc groups and collectives made up mainly of professional artists or arts professionals living in Ontario.

Who is not eligible

  • Colleges, universities, and municipalities.
  • Organizations presenting artists in disciplines outside the eligible arts fields.
  • Organizations receiving operating grants.
  • Non-professional presenters and self-presenting projects.

Eligible expenses

  • Artist fees and programming costs.
  • Travel, venue, ticketing, equipment rental, and technical staff.
  • Promotion, small equipment or software, and accessibility-related costs.
  • Childcare or dependent-care costs directly linked to the project.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Projects or events outside Ontario.
  • Fundraising activities or benefit events.
  • Capital costs, including buildings or major equipment purchases.
  • Touring projects, non-professional presentations, and student or professor events in colleges or universities.
  • Creation, commissioning, or production of artworks, and activities not directly linked to the presentation program.

  • Strong and sustained commitment to presenting Franco-Ontarian artists.
  • Better access to Franco-Ontarian artistic work for Ontario audiences.
  • Audience development and growth of the Franco-Ontarian market.
  • Clear communication and marketing support for the presenting activities.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Contact the program lead
    • Reach out before the deadline to confirm eligibility and fit.
    • Do this at least two weeks in advance, ideally earlier.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Nova application
    • Update or create your Nova profile.
    • Complete the application form in French.
    • Attach the required project information, budget, samples, and support material.
  • Step 3: Submit in Nova
    • Submit the application through Nova before the deadline.
    • Wait for the decision and, if approved, complete the project and final report in Nova.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after the deadline.
  • Applicants receive the decision about four and a half months later.
  • Approved projects must be completed and a final report submitted in Nova.
  • Major schedule or budget changes require program approval.

  • All applications must be submitted in French.
  • Applicants must contact the program lead before the deadline.
  • The Nova application form is available only after eligibility is confirmed.
