- Western Canadian academic institutions and licensed professionals serving the poultry sector

- Poultry producers outside the eligible program region
- Small-scale, hobby, pet, or show bird operations with fewer than 300 domestic birds
- Research teams without the required expertise
- Applicants that do not meet the stated stream requirements
Eligible expenses
- Mechanical air filtration systems, including particulate filters
- UV-C systems to disinfect incoming or recirculated air
- Electrostatic precipitator systems
- Positive pressure ventilation upgrades

- GST, taxes, duty, and shipping costs
- In-kind expenses
- Day-to-day operating costs and ongoing maintenance
- Capital costs such as vehicles, furnishings, land, and buildings
- Activities related to AI response or technologies deemed ineligible by the working group
