- Organizations that are not designated eligible bodies under the Conservation Easement Act.
- Applicants that are not charitable, non-governmental nature conservation land trusts.
Eligible expenses
- Land acquisition costs, including purchase price
- Legal fees, surveys, and appraisals
- Applicable taxes
- Endowment funding for long-term stewardship, at the Trustees’ discretion

Processing and Agreement
- Funding applications are reviewed by the Trustees.
- Applications may be approved or refused at the Trustees’ discretion.
- Applicants are notified of the decision in writing.
- Recipients must acknowledge receipt of funds and submit a written report within one year.
- If requirements are not met, an extension of up to one year may be granted or further requests may be refused.
Additional information
- The Trust is irrevocable.
- Any remaining trust property at termination is transferred to the Nova Scotia Nature Trust and the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
- Trustees must provide annual reporting and an audited financial statement.
