- Phase II ESAs, Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey, Remedial Work Plans, and Risk Assessment/Risk Management Plans not covered by the Brownfield Environmental Study Grant Program
- Environmental remediation, including the costs of preparing an RSC; removal of contaminated soil; placing and grading of clean fill; environmental and/or engineering controls/works; and environmental insurance premiums
- Demolishing buildings to prepare the site for development or redevelopment approved by the City
- Upgrading on-site infrastructure, including water services, sanitary sewers, and stormwater management facilities, including low impact development
- Constructing or upgrading off-site infrastructure, including roads, water services, sanitary sewers, stormwater management facilities, electrical utilities, and gas utilities, where required to permit remediation, rehabilitation, or adaptive reuse

How to apply
- Contact City staff to schedule a pre-application consultation to determine eligibility.
- Submit a complete application with all supporting documentation.
- Submit the complete application during one of the intake periods: Spring Intake (April 1 – May 31), Summer Intake (July 2 – August 31), or Winter Intake (November 1 – December 31).
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed and deemed complete by City staff, and additional materials may be requested during the internal circulation period.
- Approved applicants must enter into a written agreement with the municipality before financial assistance is issued.
- The agreement is registered on title.
- The grant amount is recalculated each year based on the tax increment for that year.
