Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Not-for-profit organizations
  • For-profit organizations
  • Housing management bodies
  • Municipalities

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations proposing a standalone Type C hospice facility
  • Projects outside the identified Target Communities
  • Applicants that are not legal entities

Eligible expenses

  • Land acquisition and related land costs
  • Permits, rezoning, and development costs
  • Professional fees, including architect and legal services
  • Construction materials and labour
  • Planning, design, and required technical reports
  • Site improvements such as landscaping

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Financing costs
  • Fines or penalties
  • Ongoing or deferred maintenance
  • Commercial capacity and complementary capacity costs
  • Underground parkades unless required by the authority having jurisdiction
  • Land value appreciation and losses on other projects or investments

How to apply

  • Step 1: Review program guidelines
    • Read the New Capacity Stream guidelines and related question responses.
    • Confirm the project meets the minimum requirements.
  • Step 2: Prepare application materials
    • Complete the online application form.
    • Gather supporting documents such as financial statements, incorporation documents, site plans, and land evidence.
  • Step 3: Submit online
    • Submit the application and all supplementary materials through the CCCP web page.
    • Receive a copy of the submission by email for records.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed in a compliance stage and an evaluation stage.
  • ALSS may request additional information during review.
  • Selected applicants receive a written notice of conditional approval.
  • Successful applicants must sign a grant funding agreement.
  • Unsuccessful applicants are notified in writing and may request a debriefing if they met minimum requirements.
